JONATHAN DREW TAYLOR

Born in Maracaibo, Venezuela to a Venezuelan mother and American father, Jonathan had a non traditional upbringing. He was raised between South America and the US for his first years of life but settled in Kentucky as a result of his parents divorce. Very early, he showed great interest in visual arts and illustration. At seven, he received a dirt bike and began his lifelong love for motorcycles. He excelled and majored in Biology and went into PreMed studies at the University of Kentucky. But while he loved the subject, it didn't fulfill him and moved to New York City to pursue the arts. He took on various odd jobs to make ends meet which included signing with the esteemed Re:Quest Models Agency then some time later Click Models NYC.  

 

Eventually he found his way into an acting class at HB Studios. However it wasn't until he studied with famed acting coach/teacher Sheila Gray that he found his way. In her studios he honed his craft and began to take on heavy character work.​ This work would help him turn a mirror on himself and his personal motivations. Eventually he came to ask more and more reflective questions and finally, looked at his demons and addiction. Having grown up in an alcoholic household, he learned many self soothing habits that came to hinder his growth as a person and artist. Enter therapy and solitude. Now, he  works on himself and his purpose, but fully aware. Enjoying a lifestyle of health, empathy, artistic expression, and growth. Many of his characters reflect either his personal struggles over the years or his observations of himself through the years, choosing to keep characters close to his truth. He believes every human is an artist and has multiple masks they wear throughout the day and with different people and environments. He builds his characters using these masks.
